Day 19 - What touch are you grateful for today?

A hug.

I thought yesterday was going to be normal. But there is no normal is there? I got a call from one of the places I'd sent a claim for to re: mom's stuff. It is a government security. They are making me jump through extraordinary hoops. Seems they want me to open a probate - even though mom has no creditors, no personal property and no real property. I got the info; after trying, in vain, to convince them to just have me handle it and got off the phone.

I called a Legal Service that is run by a paralegal who has come highly praised. She remembered me, as I'd talked to her a few times previously. I explained the above, she said for me to meet her at a local Starbucks and we settled on a "set aside". I got all the paperwork for her, paid her fee (what is it with folks who don't want to pay for services rendered???) and off we sent. I've already received two emails from her as she's already to file the info and contact the security. She's awesome. Now it's a waiting game. Fingers crossed!

I had my final yoga session with a client who is having surgery on Friday. She has been doing such a good job and I truly hope she comes back after she's released by her doctor. She is a friend as well, so no pressure. My normal Wednesday client is back from her extended vacation, but alas, has a cold. Maybe next week. I still have a client coming tomorrow. S'all good.

Hope everyone is enjoying these final days of November!

Day 10 - What taste are you grateful for today?

Bread....freshly baked bread. If I had a choice between sweet or savory, I'd go with savory every time. Mmmm, bread.

I tried really hard to get up early, but...nope. And by early I mean 7am, not horrifically early. I'll keep trying. ;)

Laundry today. I've got the bread cut/torn up to dry out for stuffing. I need to clean up my yoga room and then maybe vacuum and dust. I have a client coming at 4pm (unless she cancels).

Kids came over last night for dinner and I was watching the Vikings get their butts kicked by the Bears. Sadness. I text with a friend in Tucson and I said, "If this keeps up the kids are going to hear their Mama say some really bad words." She replied, "Sweetheart, they prolly already heard that from you." Heh. Well, they did and they had and it was the general opinion among everyone that I was the reason they are they way they are. Double heh.

Well how 'bout that. I just got off the phone with the attorney I called last week. He apologized, I was gracious. We all good.

Carrying on.

Today I am grateful for yoga.

I had my 2nd year review (it was a little late, but that's okay). Even with all my self doubt and self criticism, I did well. And was offered a raise.

The things I need to work on are housekeeping details, i.e. keeping the room at a comfortable temp for the students, etc. I did not try to defend myself in any way, but I did mention that if she came to classes more than once a year I might not be quite so nervous! ;)

S'all good.

I haven't really been posting actual content, just meme-ing (is that a word? it should be!).

I've been trying to get His Lordship to go to bed earlier than 10pm as he has to be up at 4:45 every morning and it's starting to 'show'. Grumpy is as grumpy does. He wants (at least it's my perception) me to go get in bed with him even if it's only 9pm. That's not gonna work every night for me. I've always been a night owl, he's an early riser. It's a work in progress, but the man definitely needs more sleep. He's be perfectly content to be on the afternoon shift (2nd shift), so he'd be working from say 3pm to 11pm. I absolutely abhorred that shift when the kids were little; it was like being a single mother. No thank you. Now, he doesn't have a choice but to be on 1st shift with his new position as Tech Manager (I think that's what it's called). The hours are set at 6am to 2pm. Hmmm, maybe he needs to nap more. *ponders*

I don't have to teach this afternoon as it's the 10th anniversary of the studio being opened and there is an open house celebration. I still need to be there from 4-6pm, but just for schmoozing purposes. I'm hoping a few new people show up, that would be swell. I think things are going well, she just hired a new instructor and added two new classes. Hope springs!

It's getting cooler here (finally!) and the Chilcoot (CA) Frosty (it's a destination spot!) is getting ready to close down for the year. I think we'll head up there for lunch after I teach on Saturday. A MINI adventure!

Today I'm trying to get some stains out of the bedroom carpet (have I mentioned how much I despise carpet???) and then I'm going to work on organizing my mom's paperwork. It's exceeding the boundaries of the basket I've been using.

I'm off!

Seems I've done something to my left knee. Although I don't think it's my knee. I think I sprained, bruised, something, my left quadriceps muscle when I was doing reclining hero the other day. The knee itself doesn't hurt, but the outside is slightly swollen. After I iced it this morning it went down. Hmmm.

I shall be very careful with it during teaching today and tomorrow. Man, getting old is not for the faint of heart!

Onward!
