It's been a busy day kids. I still have much to do to get my lab in order. Getting new computers was a double edge sword; love them, wish they'd come sooner. Still trying to get bugs fixed and move stuff around. And do lunch duty. And get ready to implement a new benchmark assessment in the lab. And be the point person for the new "parent portal" so the parents can see their kids grades on-line. And blah, blah, blah.
Today we also had to go to, what I'm calling, a "pep rally" put on by the new Super. There is now a "business plan" and we all have to "change our conversations". There's an hour and 10 minutes I'll never get back. Oh well.
But not in great detail. Seriously, I'm sitting here thinking...my first love? Who did I really love first? Was it love? I just don't know. I can tell you about my serious boyfriends, I guess that would count. The first lasted less than a year. I met over spring break when I was a freshman in college. He flew out to visit me that summer (I was living in MN at the time). I transferred back to AZ and I guess it lasted until close to spring again. Honestly, I can't remember much about him.
Next was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I met him in a cowboy bar. I thought he was cool. Turns out he was a drunk loser. And I stayed with him for almost 5 years. It was a dark time. His mother hated me yet at one point bribed me to marry him by saying she'd put all the property set aside for him in my name. Can't buy me love baby, can't buy me love.
I thought I upgraded with the next one, but although he was a college graduate (an electrical engineer)as he loved to remind me, he was also a drunk. It ended when he told me that I'd ruined all my chances with him after the first date because I told him I wasn't looking for a long term relationship (at the time). Just fun. So that's what I was, just fun. Hmmm.
Then came His Lordship. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, he was so wonderful. Where was the angst, the drama, the booze? Shoe hasn't dropped yet. I don't think there is a shoe. ;)

Gah. Someone obviously heard all the buzz words over the summer and feels the need to use them. You have my sympathy.
