Friday the 13th!
It's Friday the 13th! But I ain't a skeered. Below is my 12th day report!
Slept for beans last night…up and down and up and down. It’s my feet that give me fits. And the weather is stupid right now; can’t decide if it’s Spring or 2nd Winter (maybe 3rd!). I finally got out of bed around 8:30 and just went slow. Drank coffee, had oatmeal, looked at internet. Started typing this out. The one bad thing about being on the Left coast of the USofA is that I’m usually one of the last ones to write/post these things. Oh well.
I took a long, hot shower and really pampered myself. Got dressed and went to the grocery store (it is Thursday after all). It was truly stupid (is that a theme?) in the store today. It’s not the 1st and it’s not the 15th, but there were all sorts of strange folks. Perhaps it was the timing, I was about an hour later than I usually go. And one of my pet peeves happened about 3, maybe 4 times; someone taking up the entire aisle while they look for their item. The aisles are wide enough for two carts to pass each other with enough space in between to not bump each other. Why, by all that is, do people feel the need to block the entire aisle??? And why do they get so offended when you politely say “excuse me” after you’ve been standing there waiting for a minute. Lady? There is a line of people behind me trying to shop too. You aren’t special. Well, maybe you are, but stop blocking the aisle! My mother always did that when I was a kid and embarrassed me to tears. She still does it while in her wheelchair, blocking the entire hallway right where it narrows to a single pass. Arrrrghhh.
I finally got out of there and the weather isn’t being friendly like – still cold! His Lordship had texted me earlier saying it was freezing rain on his way to work. My mood was not improved and was feeling blah and sluggish. Got home, put away the groceries and had lunch of a bagel with salmon cream cheese and some Cuties (little mandarin oranges). More internet and emailed a good friend. We used to email each other all day when I was working. I’ve seen her through a horrendous divorce and she’s seen me through the yoga debacle. We grok each other!
I spent a good part of the afternoon watching bad tv and making more knockers for an upcoming event in May. I’m trying to get them finished. I finally started to perk up around 4pm when a friend texted me about our upcoming visit. We haven’t seen them in about 10 years and we’re looking forward to the visit. I got up and put the casserole together for dinner. His Lordship usually is home between 2:30-3:00pm, but today he went visiting. He got home a bit after 5pm, we went over our days. He’s somewhat worried that the plant where he works (printing) will not last for another 2 years (before he retires). He keeps calculating in his head how long it has to stay around for him to collect severance, unemployment, etc. Poor baby. Let’s hold a good thought. He watched a movie at his buddy’s house about Andre the Giant. Sounds interesting. It’s on HBO and we don’t get that so I’ll have to wait.
We ate around 6pm, cleaned up the kitchen and then just chilled on the couch – watching TV and talking while I crocheted. It was cold enough that we both needed sweatshirts even with the heat on. It’s funny how we get acclimated.
Bedtime at 10pm and I took an herbal sleep aide. A good night’s sleep is very important. I did my nightly mah-jong games and then off to dreamland.
