Saw this recipe and had to try it. I don't know why I do this to myself, but they sure turn out pretty.

Chai Spice Gingerbread cookies with orange royal icing.

Thank you! The actual gingerbread came out a little, ummm, crunchy. But once I added the royal icing, they softened up just enough. They are yummy.

They actually do! They have just enough spice and the icing is definitely orange tasting (as well as orange looking). I was trying to keep the decorations simple so I stayed with one color palette.
